My tour to Israel in 2010

After after prom

  • August 3, 2011 1:33 pm

Due to the length of the last entry i decided just to start a new one.

Sat. I woke up at about noon and had to take my tux back. I through away the reciept so i wrote my name on a little peice of paper and handed it to the guy. I came home and called heather. She came to pick me up cuz we were going with some of her friends to a hotel in new stanton where we would stay overnight and then go to idlewild the next day. The hotel was decent considering it was right off the turnpike. We went to good old eat n park for dinner and descovered that new stanton has the coolest eat n park ever there were multi levels and a big fireplace in it. We woke up the next day and checked out of the hotel around 11 and went to idlewild. Idlewild aint no thrill park but overall the day was fun. We all got sunburn but but i thought, don’t worry, it’ll be tan tomorrow. We got home sunday at about 7.

P.S. last week i was going to get a tattoo cuz i thought they only need two weeks out of sunlight and water, but i didn’t cus the guy said that i shouldn’t get one this close to the beach so i will probly get it when i come back.

Pie night

  • August 7, 2011 1:34 pm

well tonight was our eleventh pie night to supply ice cream for. it started out as a rainey(not my daughter-in-law) night which didn’t make me real happy. went anyway though. it quit raining shortly after i got there which made me feel better. nothing was set up yet which puzzeled me as they always were ready when i got there other years.found out later that they told them to set up inside first then as they were almost done decided to move them outside again. those people took it better than i would of. i took vanilla, chocolate marshmellow, fudge swirl, and cotton candy confetti(thats heathers favorite). went through all except fudge swirl(that was last years winner). mom , carie, julia and logan came up to indulge in the treats. jul liked the cotton candy also. all in all had a fun night. my shoulder aches but thats better than a pain in the —. oh thats what everyone says i am. got to go with your strengths you know. talk to yins again

Weekend blur

  • August 25, 2011 1:36 pm

well we made it through the weekend. it’s no wonder I’m a couple of bricks short when you consider my brother and sisters. Between Sonny, Paul, and myself we had the relations not knowing what to believe or not believe. I talked and laughed so much on saturdee that my face hurt that evening.(I know it’s killing yins.) Had Aunt Jean so wound up on saturdee night that she almost got us thrown out of the hotel. Had a really fun weekend though. My brothers and sisters are alot of fun.

Funniest home videos

  • August 29, 2011 1:36 pm

Well, if someone in my neighborhood had a video camera, I probably could have won some money. Picture my car & my cat tree. I could have waited until next week to have either dad’s truck or mom’s SUV, but no, I had to bring it over today by myself. When I realized that I could lift it to carry it out to the car and once I had already carried it out there, there was no stopping me. First, I thought that I could just put the back seat up and shove it in the back. Well, once lifting it up & shoving the front part into the back of the car, I realized that I was never going to get the base in under the window. So, being embarrased about playing around with it in the parking lot already, I thought I’d try my luck at shoving it in the back seat. So, I go to the passenger side & pull up the seat & try to shove it in that way. Well, the base wouldn’t fit in that way, either. So, I thought, why not put the base in first. Didn’t work that way, either. So I put it beside the car and just looked at it and looked at the car, not wanting to admit defeat. Aha!, I thought. I’ll just pull the top back & sit it on the front seat – sounds easy, right? Well, I was trying to shove the top in again, but couldn’t lift it high enough without getting the top stuck to clear the base on the seat. So, I tried spinning it around so that the high part was in the front closest to the front window. In the process, I had ended up getting it in the car & successfully laid it flat on the front seat – exactly what I had tried doing in the back seat. This left no room for me, the driver. At least it was fully in the car – first step complete. So, all I had to do now was pick it straight up & seat buckle it in. In the process of spinning it again & pulling on it to pick it up, I noticed that it was getting stuck on the emergency brake. No problem, I thought, because it was still in gear – or so I thought. Guess what, it wasn’t in gear. So now, I have it lifted halfway up & the car is now out of gear with the emergency break released. Oh crap!!!! The car is now drifting backwards (because my parking spot is on an upward slope) and I am trying to find my way around the tree to get to the brake. I finally managed to get there & the tree upright in a couple of quick steps – but holy cow!!! Thankfully & unbelievably, the car really only drifted to the end of my parking space, but it felt like I would be all the way across the road. And, of course, on the drive over, I thought of several other reasonalby easy options of what I COULD have done, causing a lot less embarrassment & issues. At least it is now moved, safe & sound, with it’s rightful owner. She better be spending LOTS of time on top of it for that!

Catchup

Way to go Jul Jul!!! Hope I can keep up with you when we are at the beach next year. Have been redecorating the diningroom. Don’t stand still too long or you will get spray painted. Casey put in a request for a mask. I ordered a tin ceiling in antique silver that Mike said he will put up for me. Can’t wait to see it up. The hard part is I have to wait 4 weeks until it is delivered. I sent the tickets for Hershey today to VA. I also made reservations for all of us at the motel for Friday and Saturday. I have till the 12th to cancel those if you do not get a dog sitter for either night. Can’t wait to see everybody. Looks like we will be leaving for Uncle Paul’s early Friday. Dad is very excited to see his brothers. Hope that hurricane Alex doesn’t dampen things for the weekend.

Safe trip

  • September 12, 2011 1:39 pm

Not sure if R&R left for their cruise yet, but I just wanted to wish you a good trip & hope you have lots of fun & sunny weather. I have to run to a meeting, but I wanted to say I ended my safety streak because I fell up the stairs at work yesterday. Luckily it was a little before 7am so no one was around, but it did hurt!

Bike Ride

  • September 15, 2011 1:40 pm

We got Julia her bike Fridee night at Walmart and today we took our first LONG bike ride as a family. We had been reading about good, flat dirt hike and bike trails in the area, so we decided to try one out today. We went to the park right under the Point of Rocks Bridge ( the bridge where Route 15 crosses over the Potmac on the way home ). The trail there is perfect. Right along the river, nice and flat, and mostly in the shade. We stopped and got subs on the way to have a picnic lunch. We rode 3 miles down the trail, and after seeing no picnic areas except at the begining, turned around and headed back. When we got back to the one picnic area, someone was there so we just headed back to the truck and ate our lunch there. I was proud of Julia. There where lots of mud puddles on the trail from recent rains. She wiped out in one and ate a little bit of mud, but she kept on going and was flying thru them like a champ at the end. We probably went a little bit too far for her first time, considering that in total we rode six miles today. She was really ready to be done by the end, as was Logan. They were both hungry. Logan did great riding in the seat ( thanks mike ) on my bike. We will probably ride that trail more often, but the only bad thing is that it is a little ways from our house. This is sad, but the highlight of our Satruday night was going to the opening of the new Super Target in Leesburg. It was pretty nice. A huge target with a grocery store on one side of it.

Hershey page one

We went to Hershey Park this weekend with Heather and Mike. We left fridee night about 5:15. Took a easy drive on the pike and stopped three times. We got to the hotel 9:45. Had poor Mike kind of frustrated though. When we got off the pike he was incharge of giving me directions. Every time he said to go left, it seems I went right and so on. we got there without him totally losing it though so that was good. maybe it’s time I step down and let my kids do the driving. Got up saturdee morning and the weather didn’t look so good. Weather man was calling for rain so I was starting to get uptight. Went to the park about 9:15 and as we waited for it to open the sun came out. It wound up being a beautiful day. Me and Mom went one way and mike and Heather went another. Mom rode some rides by herself that made me sick just watching them but she said they were really fun. Met up with Heather and Mike for lunch then went and had ice cream and watched a show together. Split up again and we went and watched a couple more shows. Ran in to Mike and Heather around 5:30 and spent the rest of the evening together. Heather won a giant stuffed tiger almost as big as her. We did a couple more things and then ate dinner. It was aroud 9:00 by this time. Mom wanted to see the laser show at ten so we just hung around. While we were waiting Mike fomulated an escape plan to beat the croud out of the park. After the show we were out of there like a rocket. Me and Mom made a race out of it with them. Heather was handy capped because her and Mike had to carry the tiger. I cheated every chance I got. almost got Mom squashed between two fat guys but she bailed out in time. That was my favorite part of the day, but the whole day was fun. Missed a turn going back to the hotel and got Mike excited again but made it there with a slight detour. Sundee morning just hung out at the hotel and then did the tour of the chocolate factory. It was a great weekend and I hope August 14th is as much fun. Thanks to Donna and Jim for taking care of my puppy. Me and Grandma miss you Jul Jul.
